IRVING- Kenya Miles (Tomball/Memorial) finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Sul Ross women's basketball team dropped a 59-55 road decision to host University of Dallas Saturday.
As a team, Sul Ross shot 22-72 from the floor at 31 percent and was six of seven from the free throw line at 86 percent.
The Lady Lobos held a brief lead following a three-point jumper by Ashley Minjarez (El Paso/Irvin) at the 7:53 mark, first quarter.
Sul Ross would go on to sport a pair of five-point leads off a pair of layups by Miles.
A three-pointer by UD's Rachel Riley put the Crusaders up 13-12 at 3:47.
Dallas would go on to lead by as many as nine and ended the period leading 25-17.
A layup and converted free throw by Miles at the 7:57 mark, second quarter cut the Lady Lobo deficit to a point, down 27-26.
The Crusaders used a 3-0 run to end half up 31-26.
A three-point shot by Aeriel Holiday (Houston/Bellaire) trimmed Sully's debt to two late in the third quarter.
Mia Ochoa (Levelland/Whitharral) cut the Dallas lead to a point, 41-40 at 2:15 as the Crusaders posted a 42-40 advantage to end the period.
The Lady Lobos held Dallas to a seven point lead but could not overcome several missed shots from close range as the Crusaders finished the day with the 59-55 win.
Sul Ross drops to 3-6 on the season while the Crusaders bump their mark to 2-4.
The Lady Lobos will face University of the Southwest Wednesday in Hobbs, NM.
