AUSTIN-Huston-Tillotson put up a 46-23 lead at the half and coasted to an 84-51 victory over the Sul Ross women's basketball team Friday night in Austin.

Kenya Miles (Tomball/Memorial) and Desare Allen (Midland/MHS) led SRSU scorers with 16 and 14 points respectively.

Allen shot seven of eight from the field while teammate Ashley Ousley (Killeen/Shoemaker) was a perfect three for three. Shannon Villanueva connected on three of four shots from the free throw line.

"Tonight we ran into a good HT team," said coach Aaron Tavitas. "They came out with great energy at the tip off and unfortunately we did not match it. We will watch film, fix what ever we need to fix and get ready for Sunday's match up with St Thomas."

Sul Ross starts the season off at 0-1 and will face the University of St. Thomas in the second of their 11-game road stretch this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from Houston.
