SEGUIN- Valeria Rey scored at the 62:43 mark but Sul Ross was unable to produce enough offensive steam down the stretch as Texas Lutheran defeated the visiting Lady Lobos 6-1 Sunday afternoon.
TLU's Sion Kirkpatrick nailed a penalty kick nine minutes into the opening half giving the host team Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.
Jaque Beck would then land an unassisted corner kick into the SRSU goal almost thirty minutes later before Jessica Gonzales set up a pass to Jessica Coronado whose shot found its mark with Texas Lutheran leading 3-0 heading to intermission.
The Bulldogs put up a 2-0 run in the second period on goals from Krystal Wolfe and Kirkpatrick.
Rey converted Sully's only score five minutes after Kirkpatrick connected on her second goal of the afternoon as the Lady Lobos trailed 5-1.
Molly Wagner of TLU scored the final goal of the day on an assist by Max Soto as the Bulldogs went on to claim the 6-1 nonconference victory.
Sul Ross drops to 2-10 and 2-7 following the recent three game road swing.
The Lady Lobos return to conference play this week as Sul Ross hosts McMurry and Hardin-Simmons Thursday and Saturday.
