Taylor Goyen

Taylor Goyen joined the men's and women's soccer programs as assistant coach on June 16, 2020 and now enters his second season.

In his first season, he assisted women's soccer to its fourth ASC playoff appearance in six years and men's soccer to is first in its third year.

As Director of Goalkeeping, women's goalkeeper Alitzel Ybarra made third team all-conference with three shutouts in seven games. Both Ybarra and men's goalie Cesar Sanchez made Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Goyen coached twelve players to all-conference honors in his first season at Sul Ross.

Goyen spent the 2019-2020 season as assistant women's soccer coach at Schreiner University.

He helped guide the Lady Mountaineers to their sixth consecutive SCAC playoff appearance, and helped transition the program under a new head coach.

During the 2018-19 season as a men’s soccer undergraduate assistant coach at Austin College, Goyen helped the Kangaroos to their third consecutive winning season and third consecutive SCAC finals appearance.
 
Goyen played collegiately at Austin College from 2016-2017, suiting up in all 42 games to help the Men’s side to back-to-back winning seasons, and consecutive SCAC finals appearances.

During the 2017 spring season, Goyen and the Kangaroos traveled abroad to Brazil, competing against multiple professional academies including Fluminense and Vasco de Gama.

Goyen was an Academic All-Conference selection his Senior year in 2017.
 
Prior to Austin College, Goyen was a scholarship athlete at Ouachita Baptist University, a Division II program in Arkansas. While at Ouachita, he helped revive the men’s soccer program there, including being a part of the 2015 GAC Conference Tournament Championship team.

The year prior, Goyen took the pitch as the Tigers defeated the No. 14 ranked team in the nation, setting a program milestone.
 
Coach Goyen is a native of Frisco, Texas, and was developed through the FC Dallas Premier system, helping the team win multiple club titles.

At the high school level, Goyen was a two-time all district selection, including being the school’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2013.
 
Additionally, Goyen holds a USSF Grassroots license and graduated from Austin College in 2019 with a B.A. in Political Science.
