Desare Allen is in her first season as assistant coach for Sul Ross State women’s basketball.
Allen is not a stranger to the Lobos as she played basketball from 2014-16. She was named the American Southwest Conference Freshman of the Year in 2014-15. That season, Allen had 11 double-digit scoring games, five double-digit rebounding games and two double-doubles.
Allen has been a Reading Interventionalist since Aug. 2024 for the IDEA Travis School in Midland. Previously, she taught 7th and 8th grade Science and was a coach at San Jacinto Junior High (July 2021 – Feb. 2024). Allen got her start teaching physical education and coaching at Trinity School of Midland (Oct. 2020 – May 2021).
Allen has a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science from Texas State.
