  • B.S. Degree in Kinesiology, 1966
  • High school coaching career: 32 years as a public educator,1990 Texas Girls Coaches Association All Star Coach, 1993 National Federation Service Award, 1993 TGCA President, 1995 Abilene ISD Physical Education Educator of the Year, 1995 TGCA Track Coach of the Year, 1996-97 National Federation State Director, 1998 National Federation Track Coach of the Year, named a TGCA Honorary Coach in 2005, sent five athletes to the USA Junior Elite Olympic Training Center, published in the Texas High School Coaches Association Magazine, has produced four instructional videos on coaching, elected to the TCGA Hall of Fame in 2012
  • Collegiate coaching career: Restarted the men's and women's track and field programs at McMurry University, 1999, two NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field, 2008 and 12, 10-Top 4 National Finishes, first female coach in NCAA history to lead a men's program to a national title in any sport, brought the first ever national championship to the McMurry campus since the beginning of the McM athletics program in 1923, won 14 consecutive ASC Men's Track and Field Championships, won 10 ASC Women's Track and Field Titles, 14-time ASC Men's Coach of the Year, 10-time ASC Women's Coach of the Year, nine-time NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region Men's Coach of the Year, 2001 NCAA Division III National Women's Coach of the Year, 2012 NCAA Division III National Men's Coach of the Year, 2008 Chuck Mosier Big Country Male Coach of the Year
