A two-time team captain and a four-year letterman, Andrew Jackson earned All-TIAA First Team honors in 1987, 88 and 89. He holds the DIII record for five interceptions in a game.
During his playing career, Jackson earned an NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week honor and was an Academic All-Conference selection in 1988 and 89. He served two terms as president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and one term as president of the Black Student Association.
Jackson was named to the Dean's List in 1988 and 89 and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business and Education and his Master's of Education in 1989 and 91.
Jackson currently serves as athletics coordinator and head football coach at LBJ High School in Austin. In his 20-year coaching career, Jackson has earned six District Coach of the Year awards and was a Central Texas Coach of the Year in 2014.
He led his teams to a pair of state semi-final appearances, one state quarter-final and has compiled an overall record of 135-71-1.
Several of Jackson's former players have competed at NCAA Division I institutions with three players advancing to the NFL.
Jackson passed away in late 2017 after nearly a year-long battle with cancer.
