Miles Brandon was named defensive line coach at Sul Ross State University in August, 2018.
2016-17-Miles served as the Defensive Line/Linebackers Coach at Hempstead High School for 2 years before arriving in Alpine.
He had 4- First Team All-District Defensive Lineman in 2016. The Defensive Line led the team in sacks that year.
He had 1-First Team All-District Linebacker-led the team in tackles 2017.
2015-Texas Southern University-Coach the Defensive Line/Interim Strength & Conditioning Coach-Defense finished 5th in the conference in total defense best since 2010. Had one All SWac-1st Team Defensive Lineman-Derrick Lyles-signed with the Maine Mammoths of the Arena League.
2005-14-Miles spent almost 10 years at Prairie View A&M University coaching the defensive line and coordinating the Strength & Conditioning Program for football.
While at Prairie View A&M University, he help rebuild a program who at one time had the longest losing streak in the nation, from 2007-2010 had 4 winning seasons and won a SWAC championship in 2009. This had not been done in over 45 years. While at Prairie View in 2006, set a school record for fewest yards by an opponent after holding Edward Waters to -35 yds rushing in a game
2007- The defensive line was instrumental in helping the team capture its first winning season in four decades.
2009-The defense was one of the top units on the FCS level as they were ranked 3rd nationally in rush and total defense.
2011-The defensive line accounted for 34.5 sacks of total of 48 sacks & 10 force fumbles, led FCS 1st Team All-American & First Team All SWAC & Co-Defensive Player of the Year and Led the Nation in Sacks with 20.5-Adrian Hamilton

2011-Quinton Spears-Two time 1st Team All-SWAC & 1st Team All-American-Finished the 2010 senior season with 70 tackles & 5 sacks-signed with the Miami Dolphins/Cleveland Browns
2012- Adrian Hamilton-2011-1st Team All-SWAC/Co-Defensive Player of the Year-broke the conference record in sacks with 20.5-Led the nation in sacks that year-20.5 sacks-First Team FCS All-American/Buck Buchannan Finalist for the Nation top Defensive Player-signed with the Dallas Cowboys/Baltimore Ravens played in Super Bowl 2013.
2013-Jarvis Reed-finished the 2012 senior season with 67 tackles & 8 sacks-signed with the Green Bay Packers
2000-03-Miles was the Defensive Coordinator/Assistant Head Coach at Lane College in Jackson, TN- In 2001, He was promoted to Head Football Coach
His defensive line & defense was rank in the top 3 categories in the SIAC for total defense, rush defense and pass efficiency from 2000-03.
2000- Defense finished 3rd in total rush def-136.9 per game 3rd in sacks- 30 sacks, 3rd in pass eff-120.2 per game
2001-Defense finished 4th in total rush-139.2 per game, 4th in sacks 28 sacks, 4th in pass eff-125.2 yds per game
2002-Defense finished 2nd total def, total rush-102.5 per game, 2nd in sacks 30 sacks, 3rd in pass eff-128.2 yds per game.
Had biggest win in school history vs FCS opponent in 2002 vs Univ of Ark-Pine Bluff

1995-2000-Brandon was the Defensive Line Coach/Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Morehead State University in Morehead, KY-(Alumnus-Phil Simms)
Defensive line finished in the top 3 categories in rushing, total defense and sacks from 1996-98. Helped the school achieved its first winning season in 1996 and school amassed 4 winning seasons.
Before Morehead State University, Brandon had stops at (1994-Troy University-DE’s Coach, 1993-Graduate Assistant-Clarion Univ of PA, 1991-93-Urbana University-Def-Line Coach, 1990-Middletown High School-Def Line Coach, 1988-89-Springfield South High School-Co-Defensive Coord/Def-line Coach.
Coach Brandon is married to Latonya C. Brandon. The couple have two children, Summer (17) and Jordan (15).
