Eric Eisenberg was named defensive coordinator in July, 2021. He enters his second season at Sul Ross after previously serving as the Linebacker Coach in 2020.
Eisenberg coached ASC All-Conference linebacker Hunter Bunch in the 2020 season.
He spent the previous two seasons as the offensive coordinator at North Broward Preparatory School in Florida.
Prior to his time in the high school ranks, Eisenberg served as the assistant defensive backs coach at Humboldt State University where he coached 1st team All-GNAC Defensive Back Davaeon Johnson. While at HSU, Eisenberg assisted in all game planning for the defense and special teams.
Before joining Humboldt State, Eisenberg was the inside linebackers coach at the University of Central Missouri. During his two years at Central Missouri, the Mules reached the NCAA Division II playoffs in 2016 and were Top 10 in the nation in two defensive categories. Eisenberg also coached All-MIAA Linebackers Sam Smith, Austin Miller and Alex Lackey.
In 2014, Eisenberg served as the defensive quality control coach at Division 1 Florida Atlantic University.
Eisenberg started his coaching career as a student assistant coach at the University of Central Florida. In his time there, the Knights won the inaugural American Conference Championship and went on to win the 2014 Fiesta Bowl.
Eisenberg received a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science with a concentration in Human Performance from the University of Central Florida in 2014 and received his Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Central Missouri in 2017.
