Lobos Battle To The End

LAREDO, Texas – It was a tough outcome as the Sul Ross State University men's soccer team (0-3) lost 1-0 to Texas A&M International (2-0-1), Saturday afternoon at Dustdevil Field.

In the first half, Texas A&M International and Sul Ross State focused on defense as there were just three shots on goal combined.

The defensive trend continued into the second half.  The Dustdevils managed to scored with 3:51 left in the game.  Senior Marlon Meda blasted a shot that was saved by a great play with 1:12 to go.

Sul Ross State had four shots with two on goal, three corner kick and were called for 10 fouls.  Freshman Fernando Hernandez had five saves.

Texas A&M International had 16 shots with six on goal, six corner kicks and were called for eight fouls.

Sul Ross State remains on the road, Wednesday, Sept. 9 taking on St. Mary's (Texas).  The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
