Lobos And Comets Collide

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State University men's soccer team (0-5) lost 4-0 to UT Dallas (5-1-1), Thursday afternoon at Lobo Soccer Field.

For almost the entire first half, Sul Ross State and UT Dallas battled on even terms.  Freshman Fernando Hernandez had several great saves to keep the Comets off the board.

With 2:34 left in the half, UTD managed to break through and score.  UT Dallas scored just over three minutes into the second half to take control.

For Sul Ross State, Hernandez had a career-high 12 saves, one shy of the school record.  With two team saves, the Lobos finished with a school record 14 saves.

Sul Ross State hits the road Saturday, Sept. 19 playing Lubbock Christian.  The game is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
