Lobos See Patriots Move By

TYLER, Texas – Sophomore Andrea Apodaca had three hits as the Sul Ross State University softball team (1-15 Lone Star Conference, 3-20) lost 9-1 and 9-1 to UT Tyler (13-3 LSC, 21-7), Sunday afternoon at Irwin Field.

Game-1
UT Tyler scored five runs in the first inning to effectively end the game.

For Sul Ross State, sophomore Janelle Leanos (2-5) gave up three hits, five runs and walked four in one inning.

For UT Tyler, Kendall Selitzky (5-3) gave up one hit and struck out five in 3.3 innings.

Game-2
In the night cap, the Patriots scored four runs in the first inning to take control.

For Sul Ross State, Apodaca had two hits.  Junior Larryn Rooks (0-6) gave up two hits, five runs with one earned, walked six and struck out two in two innings.

For UT Tyler, Ali Kimball (3-1) gave up two hits  and struck out three in four innings.

Sul Ross State is back in Alpine, Friday, Mar. 20 playing Oklahoma Christian.  The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
