San Angelo, Texas — Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball (3–17, LSC 2–12) continued Lone Star Conference play on the road Saturday afternoon, taking on San Angelo State (11–9, LSC 9–5) at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena. The Lobos competed early and stayed within reach through the opening quarter, but the Rams used sustained offense in the second half to pull away for a 77–46 conference victory.
Sul Ross was led by Victoria Aguayo, who recorded a team-high 18 points to go along with nine rebounds and four steals in a strong all-around performance. Aguayo's four steals also tied her for first all-time in Sul Ross Women's Basketball history with 248 career steals, matching the program record held by April Ramirez (2001–04), as she continued to set the tone for the Lobos on both ends of the floor.
The Lobos return home to Alpine on Thursday, February 12, welcoming Western New Mexico University to the Pete P. Gallego Center for a Lone Star Conference matchup. Tipoff is set for 5:30 PM.
