Alpine, Texas — Sul Ross State Women's Basketball (1–10, LSC 0–5) hosted No. 8 West Texas A&M University (13–1, LSC 5–0) on Sunday afternoon at the Pete P. Gallego Center in Alpine, Texas. The Buffs pulled away for a 93–63 win over the Lobos in Lone Star Conference action.
Sophiya Bustillos led Sul Ross with a team-high 18 points, connecting on four three-pointers and shooting a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. Victoria Aguayo added 13 points while turning in an all-around performance with nine rebounds, six assists, and five steals while logging all 40 minutes. The Lobos continued to compete throughout the contest and closed the game with a strong fourth-quarter effort against one of the top teams in the nation.
The Lobos hit the road next, traveling to Denton, Texas, to take on Texas Woman's University on Thursday, January 8, with tipoff scheduled for 6:00 PM.
