Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lobos And Comets Slug It Out For A Draw

RICHARDSON, Texas – Both teams left it all on the field as the Sul Ross State University men's soccer team (2-2-2) and UT Dallas (3-2-1) battled to a 0-0 tie, Saturday afternoon at UTD Soccer Field.  The Lobos extended their undefeated streak to a program best four games.

Once again defense was the focus as Sul Ross State and UT Dallas allowed just eight shots on the goal the entire game.  At the 10:57 mark, Ryder Claborn made a great dive to rob junior Jose Ramos of a goal.

In the second half, sophomore Benjamin Aviles made two amazing saves in the last six minutes to keep the game scoreless.

Sul Ross State Head Coach Bailey Guffin
"Two tough points earned on the road shows the maturity in our team. We want to be winning these games when conference comes around.  I think if we put chances away in the first half the game is ours but lot of positives to take from this trip. Now we get to focus on a tough trip to Lubbock."

Sul Ross State had eight shots with three on goal, two corner kicks and were called for nine fouls.  Aviles finished the game with five saves.

UT Dallas had 16 shots with five on goal, three corner kicks and were called for 12 fouls.
