Lobos Battle Lumberjacks

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Sul Ross State University football team lost 63-0 to NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision Stephen F. Austin (1-2), Saturday night at Homer Bryce Stadium.

Stephen F. Austin scored three touchdowns in the first 11 minutes of the game to take control.

Sophomore Jacob Franco had a strong performance averaging 41.14 yards on seven punts.

The Lobos shut the Lumberjacks down in the second half holding them to seven points and 152 yards in total offense.  Junior Evian Thompson had nine tackles and senior Brendon Martin had eight tackles.

Sul Ross State keeps to the road, opening the Lone Star Conference season, Saturday, Sept. 20 at Western Oregon.  The game is scheduled to start at 1:05 p.m. PST
