Lobos Race With Greyhounds

ALPINE, Texas – Junior Tori Owens has four hits as the Sul Ross State University softball team (8-36 Lone Star Conference, 11-42) lost 11-1 and 12-4 to Eastern New Mexico (23-21 LSC, 30-24), Sunday at Lobo Softball Field. 

Game 1
The Greyhounds scored seven runs over the first three innings to seal the game.

For Sul Ross State, Owens and freshman Alexandra Ramos had two hits each.  Junior Leanza Chambers (2-18) gave up 11 hits, seven runs with five earned, walked one and struck out two in 2.7 innings.

For Eastern New Mexico, Miranda Guillen (15-5) gave up six hits, one run, walked three and struck out three in seven innings.

Game 2
ENMU scored in the first inning for a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom half, sophomore Vivian Jimenez ripped a double down the left field line.

She moved to third on a ground out and would score on a passed ball.  The Greyhounds scored six runs in the third and fourth innings to take control.

For Sul Ross State, Owens had two hits and Jimenez scored twice.  Senior Alyvia Quintana (5-15) gave up 10 hits, seven runs with six earned, walked three and struck out two in 4.3 innings.

For Eastern New Mexico, Jordan Rivera (7-5) gave up five hits, four runs with three earned and walked six in 5.3 innings.

Sul Ross State has concluded the 2025 season.
