Lobos Lock Horns With Rambelles

ALPINE, Texas – The Sul Ross State University softball team (5-23 Lone Star Conference, 8-29) lost 13-4 and 12-1 to #7 Angelo State (21-7 LSC, 30-8), Sunday afternoon at Lobo Softball Field.

Game 1
The Rambelles scored seven runs over the first two innings to take control.

For Sul Ross State, sophomore Loren Loveless (0-1) gave up eight hits, 10 runs with four earned, walked one and struck out one in five innings.

For Angelo State, Amelia Hatthorn (9-1) gave up two hits, two runs (both unearned) and struck out one in two innings.

Game 2
Six runs over the first three innings sealed the game for ASU.

For Sul Ross State, junior Adriana Hernandez had three hits while sophomore Samantha Bustos had two hits.  Senior Alyvia Quintana (4-10) gave up 11 hits, nine runs with seven earned, walked one and struck out three in six innings.

For Angelo State, Cheyenne Floyd (16-5) gave up five hits, walked one and struck out seven in six innings.

Sul Ross State remains home, Friday, Apr. 4 playing UT Permian Basin.  The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
