Lobos Watch Greyhounds Sprint Ahead

ALPINE, Texas – Three players scored in double-figures as the Sul Ross State University women's basketball team (1-18 Lone Star Conference, 2-20) lost 91-70 to Eastern New Mexico (12-7 LSC, 17-8), Saturday afternoon at the Pete P. Gallego Center.

Sul Ross State and Eastern New Mexico played a tactical game the entire first period.  The Greyhounds scored with 30 seconds left to lead 17-15 after one period.

Graduate student Caitlyn Corley dropped one in from top of the panhandle.  That tied the game at 23-23 at the 8:10 mark.  Up 31-25 with five minutes left, ENMU closed the period on a 12-4 run to take control.

For Sul Ross State, senior Cheyanne Bonilla scored 20 points with five assists, freshman TaMaiya Mims had 19 points on 6-of-10 from the floor and 7-of-7 from the line and Corley had 14 points and three steals. 

For Eastern New Mexico, Jaz Salon scored 20 points.

Sul Ross State hits the road, Thursday, Feb. 20 playing Oklahoma Christian.  The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
