Lobos Battle Tough in Conference Start

Austin, Tx - Sul Ross State University Women's Basketball (1-4, LSC 0-1) opened Lone Star Conference play on the road against St. Edwards University (5-2, LSC 1-0) Thursday evening. The final score Lobos 63 Hilltoppers 80.

Sul Ross showed plenty of fight offensively behind a trio of standout performances. Sophiya Bustillos led the way with a team-high 20 points, knocking down four threes and providing energy on both ends. Leslie Mojica followed with 16 points, including a 6-of-7 mark from the free-throw line while also adding six steals to spark several key runs. Victoria Aguayo delivered 13 points, four rebounds, and three steals, continuing to anchor the Lobos with her steady scoring and defensive presence. Together, the trio combined for 49 of Sul Ross's 63 points, keeping the Lobos competitive throughout large stretches of the night.

The Lobos continue Lone Star Conference play on the road Saturday December 6th in San Antonio Texas at St. Mary's University (TX) with a tip off time set for 1:00 PM.
