MEN'S SOCCER: Lobos take on Celts for home opener

Off to its best start since 2021, the Sul Ross State men's soccer program is seeking to extend the winning streak this week.

The Lobos take on the University of St. Thomas Celts for their home opener on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. CST.

>> PREVIEWING THE WEEK:

This will be one of six home games on the schedule for the Lobos.

Sul Ross State last met the University of St. Thomas back on Sept. 10, 2022 for a neutral site match in Snyder, Texas.

The University of St. Thomas is a solid side coming out of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference at the Division III level.

Last fall the Celts went 14-4-1 after capturing the SCAC title which led to an appearance in the NCAA tournament.

The Celts are off to a 3-0 start with their most recent win coming over Hendrix, 4-2, on Friday, Sept. 13.

Sul Ross State also takes on Adams State on the road for a 11 a.m. CST match on Saturday, Sept. 21. It will be the first meeting between both programs.

Adams State is sporting an 0-2 record after suffering losses to Eastern New Mexico and Lubbock Christian.
