On a blustery Saturday morning, the Sul Ross State softball team held a 4-2 lead over the McMurry University War Hawks.
McMurry ended up rallying back to take the series finale, 6-4, at the Lobo Softball Field.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lobos got out of a bases-loaded jam in the top of the first as
Vivian Jimenez got the third out with a rare putout from right field to first base.
Sul Ross State took a 3-0 lead in the bottom half of the first as
Adriana Hernandez hit a two RBI single through the right side.
Ciera Avila later stole home during a first and third situation.
McMurry cut the deficit to one run when Sabrina Graf hit a two RBI single down the third base line in the top of the fourth.
The Lobos extended their lead to 4-2 when
Toni Mishnick drove in Jimenez with a bunt to the third baseman during the bottom of the fifth.
On three hits in the top of the sixth, the War Hawks tied up the game as Graf hit a sacrifice fly to right to bring in a run and Reagan Staehely had a pinch-hit RBI double to left.
McMurry took the lead in the top of the seventh on three hits.

- Mishnick went 2 for 3 with two singles and an RBI.
- Mishnick extended her hitting streak to six games.
- Mishnick finished the series going 7 for 10 with seven singles and two RBI.
- Lily Wiser and Avila each went 1 for 3 with a single.
- Wiser is riding a 10-game hitting streak.
- Hernandez had two singles to go 2 for 3 with two RBI.
- Jimenez finished 1 for 2 with a single.
