FOOTBALL: Lobos suffer shutout to Central Washington

ELLENSBURG, Wash. — The Sul Ross State football team suffered a 66-0 loss to the Central Washington Wildcats on Saturday night at Steve Hertling Field at Tomlinson Stadium.

Despite the loss, Quincy Blair is now the program's career leader in tackles as he was just two away from tying the school record.

>> HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats scored 35 points in the first quarter.

Kennedy McGill threw two touchdown passes, which included an 83-yard connection with Marcus Cook for the first score of the game with 14:34 on the clock.

Tyler Flanagan then scored on a six-yard run while Beau Phillips ran into the end zone for a 23-yard score.

McGill later broke a 30-yard touchdown run with 55 seconds to go in the first quarter.

Central Washington scored 24 points in the second quarter. McGill threw his third touchdown pass, this time a one-yard throw to Stephen Woodward with 13:37 on the clock.

Flanagan found the end zone on a 21-yard run for his second rushing touchdown of the game with 8:17 before halftime.

Ki'Marree Washington scored the final touchdown on a 13-yard run with 1:28 left in the third quarter.

  • Blair had nine total tackles and one tackle for loss.
  • Blair now has 286 career tackles, surpassing Ronin Williams' career tackle record of 279.
  • The Lobos had just 86 yards of total offense.
  • Tucker Bridwell completed 5 of 17 passes for 58 yards.
  • Carson Workman led the rushing attack with 27 yards on nine carries.
  • Vicente Luevano caught two passes for 42 yards.
  • Austin Ogunmakin had two receptions for 35 yards.
  • Brendon Martin and Jonathan Fuamatu each tallied seven total tackles and one tackle for loss.
