IRVING, Texas — On Friday evening, the Sul Ross State women's soccer team got back into the win column with a 1-0 victory over the University of Dallas Crusaders.
>> HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lobos took six shots in the first half, unfortunately the ball couldn't find the back of the net as the game was scoreless at the break.
Fifteen minutes into the opening half, Sul Ross State fired shots as
Karina Gallegos,
Sarayi Serrano,
Yissel Olivares and
Deserie Herrera all aimed at the net.
During the 53rd minute,
Emily Garcia drew a foul in the box to get awarded a penalty kick.
Garcia finished the opportunity to put the Lobos on top.
The Lobo defense stymied the Crusaders' offense during the second half as the University of Dallas did not take a single shot in the second half.
