ABILENE, Texas — The Sul Ross State women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 loss to the Hardin-Simmons University Cowgirls on Thursday night at the HSU Soccer Complex.

>> HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Cowgirls scored two minutes into the first half.

Hardin-Simmons went on to score three more times before halftime to take a 4-0 lead.

During the 45th minute of the second half, the Cowgirls scored one last time.

>> RECORDS: Sul Ross State (2-10); Hardin-Simmons (10-0-2)

>> GAME NOTES:

• Deserie Herrera had three shots and two shots on goal.
• Karina Gallegos finished with two shots.
• Sarayi Serrano and Brianna Cruz each tallied one shot and one shot on goal.
• Sul Ross State finished with eight shots compared to 34 taken by the Cowgirls.
• Celeste De La Rosa made a season-high 14 saves. Eleven of the 14 saves came in the second half.
