BELTON, Texas - Saturday's fourth inning proved to be the difference in softball's 3-1 loss to #12 Mary Hardin-Baylor.

"We played good all weekend, it just didn't go our way," said head coach Troy Canaba. "I'm very proud of this group and so proud of them for sealing their spot in the ASC Tournament."

Jodie Vaughn singled around Samantha Chavez for a 1-0 lead in the fourth.

UMHB used back-to-back hits in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-1 advantage.

Only the fourth inning saw runs come around for either side in a 3-1 win for the Crusaders.

Vaughn went five innings on seven hits. She allowed three runs with one strikeout.

Hunter Montes pitched a scoreless seventh, allowing one hit and striking out one.

Sully stands at 20-17 and 13-14 in conference. They have already clinched a spot in the ASC Tournament for the fifth time in a row.

The Lobos conclude the regular season at home next weekend against Hardin-Simmons.
