SAN ANTONIO — Despite having three players tally double-digit scoring figures, the Sul Ross State women's basketball team suffered a 91-56 loss to the Trinity (Texas) Tigers on Sunday evening.
Trinity outscored the Lobos, 22-8, in the first quarter. It held a 51-26 lead at the break.
Marley Rokas led Sul Ross with 16 points, two steals and four rebounds while Brianna Martin added with 15 points.
Emily Bunger chipped in with a double-double after having 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Vania Hampton also grabbed 11 rebounds, with eight coming on the defensive end.
Sul Ross finished with 47 rebounds compared to 50 for Trinity.
The Lobos shot 14 of 18 from the free throw line. Sul Ross struggled in the first quarter shooting from the field going 3 for 13.
