KERRVILLE, Texas -
Andres Najera lifted the Lobos to a 1-0 road victory over Schreiner on Sunday in Kerrville.
The game-winner came at 44:03 of the first half off an assist by
Xavier Russell for the 1-0 lead to help the Lobos get the win in their season opener.
Goalkeeper
Alexis Tellez had two saves in the shutout.
The Lobos offense was consistent throughout with 20 shots and eight on goal. Seven of the 11 starters had a shot on the day.
Mauricio Perez and
Cristobal Rodriguez led both sides with three shots each.
Najera added two shots with two on goal to go with his game-winning goal.
Sully moves to 1-0 on the season. Schreiner drops to 0-3.
The Lobos next travel to Sherman on Friday, September 10 to take on Hendrix College.
