AUSTIN, Texas - Softball fell 3-1 in a lone Friday night road game against Concordia.
The Tornados got things going early with two runs in the bottom of the first to jump out to a 2-0 lead.
In the top of the third, Sul Ross was able to cut the deficit to 2-1 following a groundout from
Samantha Chavez that brought in
Camryn Hardin.
Jodie Vaughn settled in after the first and would go the next three innings scoreless.
Concordia tacked on to the lead with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to make it a 3-1 advantage.
CTX proved to be as formidable on the mound and didn't allow another run after the one in the third for the 3-1 win.
Vaughn went the complete six innings with one strikeout on the outing.
Hardin added her seventh double of the season and a run scored.
The Lobos now sit at 10-9 (10-7 ASC) and will look to rebound on Saturday with a doubleheader against Concordia starting at 10:00 a.m. in Austin.
