Vania Hampton scored a game-high 21 points in a 78-60 win over Howard Payne on Thursday at the Gallego Center.

Katie Novak. "We shared the ball well and kept positive energy throughout the game. This weekend will be a good opportunity to get back after it and improve with two games against a couple of very solid SCAC teams."
First Quarter
Marley Rokas scored the Lobos' first five of the night with a layup and three-pointer for a 5-2 lead out of the gate. The Yellow Jackets took their first advantage at 9-7 and upped it to 10-7 before the Lobos finished the quarter with a 14-3 run for a 21-13 lead. Hampton scored five during the run including a triple with under a minute left to finish it.
Second Quarter
Hampton started the second with a layup for a 10-point lead and the Lobos held at least a five-point advantage the rest of the first half.
Ashley Nunez sank a three-pointer late in the second before a late triple from HPU cut it to 36-30 at the break.
Third Quarter
Carmosino opened the second half with a jumper to lead by eight. The Yellow Jackets cut it to five before a triple from
Alyssa Ramlochan and jumper from
Teresa Quintana made it a 10-point advantage. Sully later used an 8-0 run with Ramlochan providing the first six and a pair of Carmosino free throws for a 53-37 lead. After a quick 5-0 HPU answer, the Lobos finished the quarter on a 7-0 run for a 60-42 score heading to the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
Sully's largest lead of the game came on a Carmosino jumper early in the fourth for 64-42 advantage. The 22-point lead came on four more occasions through the final period before the clock struck zero with a 78-60 score in favor of the Lobos.
Hampton's 2 came with eight rebounds and two steals.
Ramlochan finished with 13 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Carmosino has 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
The Lobos improve to 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in ASC play. HPU is now 1-2 and 1-1.
Sully now prepares for the Sul Ross Classic at the Gallego Center. They'll first play Southwestern on Saturday, November 20 before hosting Texas Lutheran on Sunday.
