Lobos strike first, fall late at McMurry #SRSU | #ASCsoccer | #d3soccer

ABILENE, Texas - Women's soccer held a 1-0 lead at the half but were outpaced 2-0 in the second in a 2-1 road loss to McMurry on Saturday night.

Aylin Pereyra found the back of the net off an assist by Judith Macias at 10:04 to give the Lobos an early 1-0 lead.

Sully's defense was locked in the rest of the half for a 1-0 advantage going to the break. 

McMurry's Ashlyn Pozorski found Kylee Smith at 67:43 to even the score at 1-1.

Makayla Pearson and Meriah Sikora were able to set up a shot for Emily Holland that found the back of the net to give the War Hawks a 2-1 advantage at 85:21 that also went final.

It was the first goal of the season for Pereyra and the first assist of the year for Macias.

All four of Sully's shots were on goal. Two came from Pereyra and one apiece from Nuvia Guillen and Yissel Olivares.

Alitzel Ybarra tallied six saves after a complete 90 minutes in goal.

The Lobos slip to 1-8 (0-7 ASC). McMurry moves to 10-2-2 (5-0-2 ASC).

Sul Ross returns to action on Thursday, October 21 in Alpine against LeTourneau.
