ALPINE- Double-doubles from Chandre Nunez and Kaylee Martinez were the difference in a 77-73 ASC win Saturday against Belhaven at the Gallego Center.

Four lead changes transpired in the first four possessions as the Blazers led 6-4. Belhaven extended their lead to 8-4 with 7:26 remaining in the first.

Sully scored the next four on a Kaylee Martinez jumper and two free throws by Kensi Parker for an 8-8 tie at 6:31.

The Blazers took a 10-8 lead before a 7-0 run put the Lady Lobos ahead 15-10. Jackie Saucedo started the run with a free throw and Chandre Nunez hit back-to-back threes for the lead at 3:41.

Belhaven outscored Sully 5-4 the remainder of the quarter for a 19-15 lead for the Lady Lobos entering the second.

The Blazers started the second with the first four points for a 19-19 tie.

A 6-0 Sully run with a layup from Nunez, two free throws from Parker, and a Jocelyne Roque layup put the Lady Lobos ahead 25-19 with 6:02 left in the first half.

Belhaven was able to tie the game 27-27 with an 8-2 run at the 3:24 mark.

Ashley Nunez erupted for eight of the next 10 Sully points with two free throws and two three pointers during a 10-3 run for a 34-27 advantage at 2:28.

The Blazers finished the first half scoring eight of the final 11 for a 40-38 Lady Lobo lead at the half.

Sully started the second half on a 9-2 run to go up 49-40 with 6:21 left in the third.

The Lady Lobos held at least a five-point lead throughout the quarter and finished on a 6-0 run for a 58-47 lead heading to the fourth. 

After a Belhaven free throw, Martinez scored the next six on two jumpers and a pair of free throws for a 16-point lead with 7:27 remaining.

The Blazers responded with an 8-0 run to cut their deficit to nine with 5:13 left.

Both sides traded scores over the next three minutes. Belhaven finished that with a three for a 71-64 Sully lead with 2:12 left.

After two Martinez free throws, the Blazers trimmed the lead to two on a 9-2 run with 45 seconds left.

Two free throws from Ashley Nunez helped seal the deal with 26 seconds left to make it two in a row in conference with a 77-73 win over Belhaven.

Chandre Nunez finished with a game-high 24 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Martinez finished with a game-high 20 rebounds to go with 19 points. Her rebounding performance matches a career-high from November 24, 2018 against Schreiner.

Ashley Nunez finished with 13 points on 3-3 shooting from beyond the arc.

Sully improves to 4-8 on the season and 2-1 in ASC play. The Blazers fall to 8-3 and 1-1.

The Lady Lobos next head to Abilene for a January 9 meeting with Hardin-Simmons.
