ALPINE- A lone Hardin-Simmons goal just over four minutes into the game helped them edge the Lobos 1-0 Saturday at Lobo Field.
Mackenson Cadet took a pass from Austin Wills to give the Cowboys a 1-0 lead 4:06 into the first half of play.
Sul Ross had chances throughout with five shots on goal and two from Luis Gonzales. Neither side was able to find the back of the net after the early goal and the Cowboys took it 1-0 in regulation.

Frank Rodriguez finished the game with eight saves on nine chances. This is the ninth start of the season in which he has allowed one goal or fewer.
The Lobos fall to 3-7-3 on the season and 1-4-3 in conference play. HSU improves to 13-2-0 and 6-2-0.
