CLARKSVILLE, Ark.- University of the Ozarks held off a stubborn Lobo rally in the second half and prevailed in a 2-1 edging of Sul Ross in Saturday afternoon conference play.
The Eagles posted both of their goals in the opening half as Richard Souffrant and Alex Ross netted scores at the fourth and 27th minutes.
In the second half, Sully's
Daniel Torres scored on a cross assist by
Luis Gonzalez at the 76th minute.
Sul Ross put up 10 shots with six on goal while Ozarks tallied 15 shots with seven on goal.
Lobo goal keeper
Frank Rodriguez posted five saves on the day.
Sul Ross drops to 1-8 on the season and 1-4 in ASC play. Ozarks improves to 5-7-1 and 4-4-0.
The Lobo men will host Louisiana College and Belhaven next Thursday and Saturday.
