HSU downs soccer, 8-1

ABILENE-Hailey Pace (Oakley, CA/Freedom) scored the lone goal in the 54th minute as Sul Ross (6-8-1, 4-6-1 ASC) fell 8-1 to Hardin-Simmons University (15-1, 10-0 ASC) Saturday.

The Cowgirls are ranked number 2 in NCAA Division III rankings and are undefeated against ASC opponents.

Saturday's game against Hardin-Simmons marks the final regular season contest as the Lady Lobos will learn later this week of a possible berth in the ASC post season championship tournament.

Goalie Ashlie Rojas (El Paso/Montwood) accounted for 11 saves in Saturday's regular season closer.
