The Sul Ross men's basketball team will continue their December road swing  through East and North Texas this week.

The Lobos (1-5, 1-1) will take a break from conference play as Sully pays a visit to Dallas Christian College and the University of Dallas on Thursday and Saturday.

RECAP

Sully split two ASC outings last week as the Lobos opened league play with a 72-56 thumping of LeTourneau Thursday in the conference opener.

Four Sul Ross players finished in double figures as Caleb Thomasson (Ackerly/Sands) posted a team high and double  double 14 points and 11 rebounds against the Yellow Jackets.

Rocky Feliciano (El Paso/Hanks) was a point behind his teammate with 13 points and continued his season perfect streak at the free throw line at 3-3. Feliciano is the best free throw shooter in the American Southwest Conference connecting on 35 of 35 shots from the line.

Other Lobos in double figures include Jacob Dawson (Amarillo/AHS) with 11 points and Brock Anders (Keller/KHS) with 10 points.

It came down to a missed free throw and a missed desperation toss as the Sul Ross men's team dropped a heartbreaking 66-64 decision to the Patriots of U.T. Tyler Saturday.

Patrick Mound (Cedar Park/Coleman) split two free throws with three seconds remaining in the game and grabbed a rebound to fire an off balance jumper as time expired.

Alex Harrison (Lubbock/Monterrey) collected a team-high 21 points for the Lobos with Dawson posting 10 in the effort. Thomassom tallied 10 rebounds.

As a team Sul Ross finished the afternoon shooting 25 of 59 from the field at 42 percent but shot a season low one of 19 from beyond the arc at 5.3 percent.

The Lobos also saw a downturn at the free throw line converting 13 of 22 from the stripe at 59 percent against the Patriots.

Despite leading for most of the first half the Sul Ross men's basketball team could not overcome a 72-point scoring spree by the Bearkats in the closing period as Sam Houston delivered a 109-61 exhibition knock out of the Lobos Sunday in Huntsville.

The Bearkats erupted in the second half shooting 28 of 44 to finish at 41-81 or 51 percent for the contest.

Sul Ross saw two players in double figures as Feliciano and Thomasson  recorded 12 and 10 point performances respectively.
