ALPINE, Texas- Cloudy skies and rainy conditions were no issue for visiting Hardin-Simmons as the Cowgirls ran away with a 12-0 blanking of Sul Ross Saturday in ASC women's soccer competition.
HSU's Kirsten Parrish started things off for the Cowgirls on a short range shot before the visitors mounted an 8-0 run to lead 9-0 at intermission.
The Cowgirls' Sarah Phillips used a hat trick to start the second period on an assist by Olivia Hartman.
Hartman would then add a goal of her own on an unassisted shot to give Hardin-Simmons an 11-0 lead early in the second.
Parrish would close out the scoring fest on a goal off another assist by Hartman at the 74:43 mark.
Sul Ross goalie Kelly Swenson (Austin) posted 13 saves in the effort.
The Lady Lobos fall to 3-11 and 2-8 in league play. Hardin-Simmons improves to 12-2-1 and 7-1.
Sul Ross will close out their inaugural season on the road as the Lady Lobos visit University of Dallas and Texas A&M Texarkana next Thursday and Friday.
